Mrs. Chapman started teaching art at Belfry High School in 2010. Belfry was her first teaching job, but she also applied at other schools. “I love being able to pass my art history knowledge down to my students, so they can learn why art is so fascinating!” Mrs. Chapman is a very creative person when it comes to drawing. She helps her students by painting a visual image for them when she describes what to do. Mrs. Chapman says, “When it comes to art, you don’t have to be able to draw or paint, you just have to be creative and have a great imagination.”
Currently at Belfry High School, there are 4 art programs. Art I, Art II, Art III, and Art Honor Society. Art Honor Society is for those art students who really enjoy art. This program was started in 2010, with her first Art I class. Over the years, her art class has grown from just having one art class to three. Many students love being able to express their selves in many ways, so that’s why they chose to be in art.
